"One foot from a million dollars or a million feet from one dollar" is a phrase commonly used by placer gold miners as a way to embrace the electric thrill of discovery or to accept the monotonous toil in search of the precious metal. Carved out of a re-purposed black granite countertop remnant. Edges are rough-pitched and the backside is hollowed out to reduce weight. Very durable hanging wire for mounting on the wall is on the backside, standard for most wall-mounted artwork. Lithichrome paint was used to paint the shallow hand-carved illustration, and the paint is durable and UV-resistant.
